Flower Power

In Breezand, a village in the north of North Holland, we can find nursery Flower Power of AJ van den Berg. For 30 years Arie grows together with his wife Marleen a variety of bulb flowers. The Triteleia is his specialty and the variety where he also earned his spurs as a breeder. At the age of 12 Arie picked flowers at the farm of his uncles Niko and Pum. This was the start of the love for the profession. After several years of working on the land, Arie decided to set up his own nursery.  He grows Muscari, Allium and Triteleia on half a hectare of land. Growing, but also the breeding of bulbs he has in his fingers. Arie and Marleen not only have a green feeling but also a lot of patience. They are proud of the self glorified Triteleia Rosy and Phantasio, this is reflected among others in the baptism of the Phantasio in 2012. Besides Triteleia’s they are also specialized in breeding Muscari and ornamental alliums.
